Broadwood, John
John Broadwood is just about the oldest, most renowned piano manufacturer in the world. Bartolomeo Cristofori is credited for inventing the piano around 1720, and John Broadwood was established shortly after in 1728 in London, England (this is almost 100 years before piano manufacturing was beginning in America). Broadwood is one of, if not the only piano maker to have built pianos consistently for over 250 years! Many historical instruments bear the Broadwood name, and they are fairly plentiful in both Europe and the United States today.
