Instrument Description
This is a beautiful Civil War era square grand piano built by the prestigious F. C. Lighte Piano Company. This piano is made of beautifully carved Rosewood, and is in the Rococo Revival style. Note the amazing hand carved cabinet - the square pianos with this level of ornamentation were among the most expensive, highest grade square pianos available at that time – often selling for as much as a small house! This piano is truly stunning, and is an important part of America's musical history. This piano has been restored to like-new condition.
