Instrument Description

The Brambach Piano Company was known for building some of the best sounding small apartment size grand pianos in the industry. The Brambach design was able to achieve great tone quality from a very small size. The Brambach factory was one of the largest and most up-do-date modern piano factories in the piano industry, and history has revealed that Brambach actually built pianos for many famous American piano manufacturers according to their specifications. The Brambach facility was unparalleled in production capabilities and quality control, and literally dozens of well-known American piano manufacturers used Brambach to build their instruments under secret contract!

During our 20+ years in the piano business, we’ve never seen a small apartment size baby grand piano as stunning as this one! This is a custom-made, original painted French Country style Brambach baby grand piano with an entirely hand-carved cabinet (and original bench!). The detail in the carvings is exquisite and unlike anything we’ve ever seen – and the hand painted cabinet depicts Rural French Village scenes in amazing detail! It is exceedingly rare to find a piano of this size with this level of amazing detail.

In the early 20th Century, it was not uncommon for a wealthy client to visit a piano factory, choose the instrument they preferred among all others, then have the factory commission a specialized cabinet maker and artist to design and build a custom cabinet around the instrument they chose. This piano would have been picked out among many for its fine tone quality, and then a small fortune spent to have the cabinet custom made to suit the client’s décor! Since Brambach was known for specializing in small apartment-size baby grand pianos, it makes sense that a wealthy client would have chosen Brambach for a custom piano in order to achieve the best quality sound in such a small size instrument.

This piano is being restored to like-new condition, inside and out, and the amazing painted murals are being restored and preserved. The quality of tone and touch will rival any new quality baby grand piano. Computerized player mechanisms can be installed in this piano, and the original matching bench is included.
